Santa Clara Center for Occupational Safety and Health
Print ad, 1998
Santa Clara Center for Occupational Safety and Health uncovered the dirty underside of some of Silicon Valley's biggest names: Intel, Hewlett Packard, and National Semiconductor. SCCOSH ran this full-page ad in the New York Times highlighting the near-death experience of Rodrigo Cruz, a victim of one of many health and safety violations by Romic Environmental Technologies, a waste processor used by major corporations in Silicon Valley. The ad highlighted the human price of waste processing plants located in low income neighborhoods and staffed by exploited immigrant workers. Click for PDF
